Student headed to TMC

Ryan Rask has completed his training here at Interstate Truck Driving School and has a job lined up at TMC out of Des Moines IA.  Since Ryan will be pulling a flatbed spread axle trailer at TMC, we did his final phase of training with a flatbed spread axle trailer so he is ready to hit the ground running when he gets to TMC.  We also have an electronic logging system that Ryan was using so he is familiar with that process. We pride ourselves in personalized training to empower our students with the skills they need to be successful in the trucking industry.

Troy Ostrander

Troy really has a great attitude toward learning and improving.  He listened intently during all of his training and really applied himself.  He passed his 1st road test with flying colors.

New Addition to the Fleet

An important part of our business plan is to accommodate everyone that comes to us seeking a career in the trucking industry.  Keep in mind, qualified candidates must have a reasonably clean driving record, clean background history, and be in good health to be able to pass a Federal DOT physical and DOT drug screen.  As long as candidates can meet those standards, we do everything we can to empower them regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, color of skin, religion, or orientation.  Since some of our students are taller and shorter than others, we seek out vehicles that can accommodat

Trucking Rates Continue to Rise

Freight rates continue to climb through out the country.

And the demand for drivers also continues to climb.  Bob Costello, a market analyst from the American Trucking Association is a very accurate source of information on trucking trends and he recently provided his opinion on the demand for drivers.  Bottom line, there has never been a better time to get into the trucking industry, especially if you can embrace the new technology  that is constantly changing our industry.

Michael J. just finished up his Professional course. He was driving from pretty far away so we here at Interstate were able to use our flexible scheduling to make the training work for him and his schedule. He took advantage of our online training and the fact that we are open 7 days a week to complete the course.

Mohamed H.

Mohamed Hagi just finished his training at Interstate. He finished up his Professional Course with flying colors and now he's got a local job with Schneider right out of school.

Our Twenty Year Anniversary is coming up soon.

In less than six months, Interstate Truck Driving School will be celebrating it's 20th Anniversary.  During that time, Interstate has maintained a perfect safety record with zero insurance claims due to collisions and zero DOT reportable collisions.

We are very proud of our Perfect Safety Record and we are committed to keep our record going.  We use the best equipment available and strive to use the very best teaching methods.  We are one of very few private truck driving schools in the country to take advantage of high powered driving simulators.

Electronic Logging Device Update Sept 7th

Electronic Logging Device Update Sept 7th

Despite efforts by Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, it looks like the requirement to use Electronic Logging Devices will become mandatory December 18th of this year.  Owner Operators are opposed to the rules while the American Trucking Association is in favor of the mandate.

There have been lawsuits filed in federal courts and legislative efforts to delay the new rules but they all have failed.  Some owner operators are still hoping for a miracle but it looks like this is a train that will stay on track.  Stay tuned for further updates.
