Evan did a great job. He started in October and then took some time off. He came back when he had the time, took some more time off, and then finished up when he had the time to devote to his training. Evan is a U.S. Veteran and we applaud his service to this country. We have no doubt he will be successful in the trucking industry. He is keeping his options open for now but looking for something near his hometown.

A group of lawmakers has reintroduced the Promoting Women in Trucking Workforce Act, which aims to support women entering the industry.
Four members of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation — Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.) — reintroduced the bill.

An Iowa State Patrol officer took to Twitter to tell truckers to park it when bad weather strikes. His strongly-worded Tweet came after a 40 vehicle pileup on Interstate 80 earlier this week that included a tanker rolling atop two trooper cars.

Several trucking companies have announced significant driver pay increases in the last month. One company gave their drivers up to 25% pay bump earlier this month. Now Frozen Food Express with 17 locations around the country has announced their "largest pay raise in their history" with up to 25% increase in pay.

Alan Adler wrote an article in Freight Waves yesterday reporting on the increase in orders for Class 8 trucks. Class 8 rigs are the other road semi tractors that pull large trailers. Here is his article:

In 2019, the Trucking Industry was facing a significant shortage of qualified drivers. COVID-19 turned the U.S. economy upside down in early 2020 but now things are turning around for the Trucking Industry. Veteran Geoffrey S. needed a change and thought that getting his CDL would be a great start. After working with our instructors Geoffrey was not only able to pass his road test, but was able to obtain a level of confidence that he would not have recieved elsewhere.

Khalid E. came through our Professional Program and was not only able to pass his Class A Road Test, but was also given extra time with more real world training to help him transision into his new career. He's hoping to start driving for Swift.
