Andrew O. from Frost Minnesota just completed his 160 Hour Professional Tractor Trailer Training Program. Andrew already had experience driving trucks on the farm and did a really good job at improving his skills and knowledge. He is going back to work with the family trucking business.

It is tax time for most truck drivers. Taxes can be confusing for anyone but it is especially important for truck drivers to take the time to make sure they are taking advantage of all of the deductions available to them. Drivers also should be making sure they are getting the maximum deduction for Per Diem that they are entitled to.

ATA reports that tonnage in 2016 increased 2.5% over 2015.

The for-hire truck tonnage index compiled by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) jumped 2.9% in January, after falling 4.3% last December; a sign that “the freight economy is starting to show some signs of life,” according to Bob Costello, chief economist for the trade group.

We would like to congratulate U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc as they have announced the Veterans Administration (VA) has officially accredited the trucking company as part of the Post 9/11 GI Bill® Apprenticeship Program. With the accreditation, U.S. Xpress becomes one of the select few trucking companies to receive this honor that allows eligible veterans to receive their tax-free educational benefits directly from the VA while training as a professional truck driver or diesel technician for U.S. Xpress.
