Bill met with staff members from Minnesota Members of Congress on March 8th, 2023 in cooperation with the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA). 

He met with staff members from Congresswoman Angie Craig, Senator Tina Smith, and Senator Amy Klobuchar. 

The latest data from the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse reveals that drug use among commercial drivers may be at its highest level since the FMCSA Clearinghouse was implemented in January of 2000.  Not surprising, Marijuana was the number one substance found in driver's systems.  

The significant number of drivers testing positive for controlled substances is fueling the driver shortage with no relief in sight.  The problem is further exasperated by the additional states legalizing Marijuana for recreational use.  

The Trucking Industry continues to be strong and demand for new drivers provides great opportunities for people coming into the industry.
