It was 7am on August 29th when the Fit For The Road 5K started. The event was held at the Great American Trucking Show at Fir Park in Dallas Texas. As it is in Dallas in August, race organizers worried about the heat and the health of those participating in the 5K. A welcome surprise, as it turns out the race started with a bit of rain that trickeled over the participants, cooling the dozens off early to start.
