Class B CDL Road Tests
Class B CDL Road Tests
Many of our customers already know how to drive trucks. While these drivers do not need training in order to drive safely, it can be very worthwhile for them to learn what the state examiners are looking for on the Road Test. In order to serve these customers we have several short training programs that are followed by a road test at one of the metro area state exam stations. All of the tests are conducted by state employed examiners.

These programs include the Comprehensive Pre-Trip Inspection Class in order to prepare you for the air brake inspection that is a part of the state CDL road test. We hold the class every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The truck driving sessions are completed in one day. You need a Class B permit with Air Brakes and the results from your Drug Screen in order to schedule any of these programs.
You will also receive instruction and practice on the maneuvers required during the test. Backing, right and left turns, lane changing, and freeway driving will be covered to help you understand what the examiner will be looking for. The longer programs provide you with more practice and it is your decision how much training you wish to receive before you take the road test.
Your Interstate Truck Driving School instructor will meet you at the South Metro exam station to start your training. State rules do not allow training within the exam station so your training will be done in the area around the exam station. We will take care of obtaining the road test appointment from the state for you.
Driver training hourly rate is $110.00 per hour with a two hour minimum. Students must have passed a DOT drug screen within the last 30 days before any training can be scheduled. Programs are to be paid on the first day of training to receive program price. Training can be paid for daily at hourly rate. Authorization or Purchase Order must be received prior to training in order to bill for services. All invoices must be paid net within 10 business days of receipt.
Prices and curriculum effective 1/1/11 and are subject to change without notice.
