Welcome to our Racing Blog!

Bill Collins, the owner of Interstate Truck Driving School, has been racing cars since he was a teen back in the late 1960s.  After starting the truck driving school in 1998, Bill had a goal of racing trucks to promote the business.

The 83 Truck was built in 2001 by Andy Jirik of Lonsdale MN and raced successfully by Andy in the U.S. Super Truck Series.  Bill started running the truck in the Big 8 Sportman Division at Elko Speedway in the spring of 2009.  His best finish during the year was a 2nd in a heat and a 4th in a feature.

Bill finished off the year with a 5th place at Octoberfest with the US Super Truck North Series and a 9th at Memphis with the U S Super Truck Challenge Series.

In 2010 we put a new body on the truck and changed the number to #63 since Bill had used that number on his SCCA Trans Am car back in the 70s.  Pat Stair took over the Crew Chief  duties for 2010.

In the spring of 2011 Andy rebuilt the truck and put #83 back on the door.  Bill is now running another truck that Andy built a few years ago with #63 with a 604 crate motor.

Darrell Peterson also got Bill involved in ChumpCar racing in the spring of 2011.  Check out the ChumpCar section of our blog for more info and www.chumpcar.com.
