ITDS Approved For Renew Minneapolis Program

Interstate Truck Driving School has been approved for funding through the RENEW Minneapolis program through the Employment Action Center. This is a major step in helping those who are underemployed and underpayed get into a truck driving career that will not only pay the bills, but provide health insurance and retirement plans. If you or someone you know is underemployed and living in the city of Minneapolis, you could be approved for funding to get training for starting a new career in the truck driving industry. RENEW is an employment and training program funded by the US Department of Labor’s Pathway Out of Poverty Grant. Throughout 2010 and 2011, 500 residents of Minneapolis and Saint Paul will be trained for jobs in green careers. This project focuses on providing sustainable pathways out of poverty to some of the cities’ most disadvantaged citizens, while ensuring that area businesses have access to a well-trained workforce that is prepared to carry out the work of greening the local economy.

WERNER Recruiter Visit – June 26th @ 1:00pm

Mike Kellis from Werner Transportation will be here in our office to visit with new drivers. Werner is one of the few trucking companies that have paperless logs approved by the Federal Dept of Transportation. This is a great opportunity to meet with a representative from Werner to get all of your questions answered. Job applications for Werner will be accepted prior to enrolling in class.
Werner will then get back to you to let you know if they will offer you a job. After you get a positive response from Werner you can sign up for our 160 hour Professional Tractor Trailer Training Program and get started on your training. You can finish up in as little as 3 weeks and then head off to Werner and get to work!

He took the 160 Hour ONLINE Professional Tractor Trailer Course and now has the training to work at just about any over-the-road or local carrier on the U.S. Here is what he said about his training at Interstate.

A representative from TMC Trucking Company will be at our South St. Paul location to visit with our students and prospective students. Several of our students have gone to TMC and they like the high pay based on performance.
This is a great opportunity to get all of your questions about TMC answered. They are the largest flat bed carrier in the country and they are based out of Des Moines Iowa.
